Design Culture Now

Project Overview

What is the project about?

The typographic hierarchy poster was designed to teach the student the rules about hierarchy, weight, contrast, proximity amongst other things in typography and overall page layout. This is also usually one of the first times students interact with the idea of negative space and alignment and how it affects the viewing experience of the viewer.

The concept of this project is to bring attention to the dates and the public speakers participating in the event.

What is Design Culture Now?

This typographic hierarchy poster was designed based around the event Design Culture Now: The National Design Triennial; which is supposed to be “The first survey of contemporary American design to span the disciplines of architecture, urban design, theatrical design, fashion, typography, film graphics, products, and new media”. Typographic hierarchy gives the viewer contrasting elements which allows an easy viewing experience.
